![]() ![]() dodge to the sides, wait for the next attack. ![]() Originally posted by DisKorruptd:okay, I just got the game from EGS free and yeah, chapter 3 boss literally has like, 2 attacks one slam that sends a cone of tremmors your way. And then realizing most of it isn't even worth using, which is just such a boring shame reducing combat to Dodge & Attack. The reload-before-boss was the first opportunity I saw to do so, treating it like a reloadable arena in which to actually learn things when the game kindof just tossed you right into the fire from the get-go. In a punishing game like this, I never feel free to truly experiment with different techniques to see what works best. The new Lunge is fun, but they seem to pretty easily dodge it too most of the time, suffering from that same "charge-up" mechanic where the enemy regains their Dodge too fast. (Except against Tremorlurks, I guess, they pop up and sit still long enough.) and what DID hit did paltry damage not worth the risk to yourself trying to land the hit, and even the mat cost of the arrows involved, etc.ĭue to the charge-up nature of the bow, you can't really rapidfire and bait out their dodge and then hit them with the real shot, they always have a Dodge ready for a charged shot.) Just felt worthless. What Forsaken don't dodge, would often just get blocked if they had a shield. didn't seem to do a damn thing, far as I could tell. I had also even tried crafting Spectral arrows, assuming (because the game tells you nothing, honestly) that they'd be good against Forsaken enemies and bosses. I savescummed in front of a boss testing all of these attack methods, trying to figure out why the bow sucked so much when I assumed it'd be helpful, etc, and practicing moves. whereas Dodging is always the safe bet.Īnd what Brolaire said. I never trust Parrying (first "skill" you unlock and I always ignored it) because there's some things you can't parry and then you just end up taking the hit (and I don't know what all those things are, game never said or taught and I'm not gonna be a punching bag to find out). Dodge & attack seems to be the safest, easiest, and best bet. They should improve other combat options so that they are as efficient, effective, fun and useful. coulda been cool, but I don't wanna be stuck there getting hit by something, not worth the risk.) Not even using the actual Dodge Attack, although you could if you wanna get fancy, but I'm leery of anything that might lock me into further animations that just get you hit (which is why I don't use Nekla's Rage, for example, big slow-animating AOE. So the easiest and what I generally default into is simply Dodging and spear attacking right after. The bow feels useless, and fit only for hunting for food. ![]() I went into the game thinking I could do a few ranged shots before getting into melee, that the combat would be fluid and rewarding. Just watching any of the Avatar series is enough to know that the show just doesn't fit with other Nick programming.Originally posted by Kentucky Sperkle:dodge and hit. The fact that Nick got lucky with a hit and is holding onto avatars rights isn't doing the series much justice. Korra's adult audience and a large sum of it's younger audience live in a "I'll see it when I want to" world and won't ever watch the show on nick, visit nick's site, or buy the dvds, so a vast quantity of Korra fans are doing nothing to help the show financially other than create internet buzz.īut believe me when I say that the Legend of Korra is subjectively one of the best non-japan animated series thats not a comedy (Archer is like way better). Nick is losing out on ad revenue because of pirates. The problem is that Korra often shows up online well before it's TV air date which will diminish it's TV ratings, and once it's out in any form be it digitally or not, it gets immediately ripped and hosted on other TV-based internet sites designed to leak ad revenue. The Legend of Korra is Nick's only show thats an epic, and are probably usingg people s wills to tune in for next week and using viewers as data for the best way to advertise. I think they're using Korra as an experiment to find how to increase ratings. Apparantly just having the show air on TV, and appear digitally the day after isn't simple enough. Its not ideal to a series' health but they've been struggling with the idea of just what they're planning for the show. ![]() These digital fiascos have been happening since season 2, and I can't remember if season 1 had the same issues or not. Click to expand. Not saying specifically about it being canned or not, but Korra has a long history of less than ideal rating and early digital screenings. ![]()
